We are excited to announce the upcoming Amador County "Cycling in the Motherlode " Bike Fun Fest occurring in Historic Downtown Jackson, Sutter Creek, Volcano and Ione on September 8-10, 2017.
The Motherlode Bike Coalition will host an exciting USA Cycling-sanctioned criterium bicycle race on a one-mile loop in Downtown Jackson on Saturday, a 12-Mile Time Trial for racers and local residents starting in Sutter Creek on Friday afternoon, and a family-oriented walk or bike ride along Five Mile Road in Ione on Sunday.
Our concept is to advertise and promote this event within the California and Nevada cycling communities and local residents as the Historic Bicycle Criterium and Fun Fest...a season-ending family festival for the competitive cycling community, as well as the surrounding residents.
The event will consist of two days of bike racing, along with some entertainment mixed in...a couple of hours of music, dancing, dining, shopping, and socializing on Main Street in Sutter Creek and Volcano on Friday, as well as in downtown Jackson between California and Broadway in the early evening Saturday. Closing the weekend is a family fun ride called "Take Five" along Five Mile Road in Ione, which will be closed to traffic.
The emphasis will be to entice participants to come and “Discover Amador County”...bring the families, book hotel rooms, eat in restaurants, shop in stores, spend money throughout the Motherlode...and make it an annual season ending pilgrimage that everyone circles on their calendar year after year.
Red Kite Bike Racing Events, a professional event promotion company, will manage each bike event in partnership with the Motherlode Bike Coalition, local city and county government offices, the Amador County Chamber of Commerce, Amador Council of Tourism, Amador Transportation Commission and Amador Recreation Commission.
We need your donation to assist in holding these community wide bike events. All funds raised will support the management and operating costs of holding weekend bike events overseen by Red Kite Racing Events, The Motherlode Bike Coalition, host cities, the County and volunteers. Our goal is to make "Cycling in the Motherlode" an annual event bringing cyclists, spectators, tourists and community to ride a bike in the foothills of the Motherlode.
Please review the “Benefit for Contributor” document and select the level at which you would like to participate. Then complete and return the “Donation Form” no later than August 1, 2017.
Remember that your contributions are tax deductible! Your contribution to the Cal Bike/Motherlode Bike Coalition helps support Bike Friendly Counties and Cities in the Motherlode. The California Bicycle Coalition Education Fund is a 501(c) (3) California public benefit nonprofit corporation. Its tax identification number is 68-0417507.
We look forward to our mutual success in this creative endeavor that will benefit citizens in Amador County, the Central Motherlode and local businesses.
