From the Chamber: Did you know? Mandatory Human Resources Requirements

The Chamber of Commerce now has a number of the required EDD pamphlets available.   Employers are required to give specific pamphlets and notifications to newly hired employees, and in some cases terminating employees, and not doing so can end up with regulatory fines and actions.   Drop in and pick up what you need - some are available in both the Spanish and English versions.

Not sure what you have to provide? Sue Allred, Human Resources Consultant, is in the Chamber Office MOST Thursdays from 1 - 4 p.m.If you want to ask specific questions, you might want to call (209-223-0350) before you come by to confirm she is in the office that day before you come in.
Email, Facebook, & Twitter
Sue holds senior level Human Resource certifications from the Society for Human Resource Management and the Human Resources Certification Institute. She has over 12 years of HR and regulatory compliance experience, beginning in the Financial Services industry, and most recently doing Independent Consulting services for local businesses, includingcommercial, retail, non-profit and restaurant sectors.

Need a new labor law poster?  No poster = up to $17000 in fines!

Sue Allred Human Resources Consulting can provide HR audits to ensure your company is compliant with the required laws, as well as training, document creation (including employee handbooks) and other consulting services. You can contact her directly at

"I am passionate in providing support to our local business that are too small to have their own HR person on staff, but still have to comply with a long list of required HR laws even they only have 1 or a few employees. I see way too many things that could result in fines and regulatory action, ultimately causing some of our small businesses to have to close down. This is truly a shame when it happens to good employers who didn't follow a rule simply due to lack of knowledge".
