Amador Council of Tourism - Thurs Dec 10

Hello, Amador Tourism partners-

We will hold our general membership meeting next Thursday, December 10th, 5:30 pm, at Volcano Union Inn. Snacks and a no-host bar will be provided. Please consider staying for dinner afterward. Reservations can be made at 296-7711.
We will vote on the 2016 slate of directors and report on our activities for the year. It has been a good year for Amador Council of Tourism and you are part of that success.
Two other items:
1.       We are always bringing events forward on the calendar from last year to this year. We know that website visitors are looking out as many as 6-8 weeks. Please send us the details of your events: dates, hours, location, details and photo at your earliest opportunity. We are currently moving events into June of 2016 and depend on your eyes to keep the information accurate. Thank you.
2.       We are planning another San Francisco Chronicle insert in February. These have been enormously successful for us and affordable for you, due to the subsidy of Amador Council of Tourism. Keep an eye out for emails on this later this month and in early January.
Please do not hesitate to call or email the office at any time. And please do thank the person answering the phone. They are the power behind the work: Rebecca Brown, Emilie Hook, Joyce Crawford, and John Wagner.
Many thanks for your support,

Maureen

KVGC's "A Christmas To Remember" - Dec 2 & 3

A CHRISTMAS TO REMEMBER...
started over 25 years ago with a small monetary donation from a local citizen, the idea was to purchase new winter clothing for needy children.
The effort was embraced by the local radio station and with a local collection point and live radio broadcasting for 2 days in December, expanded to solicit donations from the residents of Amador and Calaveras counties.
Today, the Christmas to Remember Foundation along with KVGC 1340 AM continue the work that started so long ago. Last year, through the generosity of local service organizations, employee's organizations and countless individuals, new winter clothing was purchased for over 700 local children.  No donations to the program are used to cover expenses!
Christmas to Remember IS:
  • Strictly a money raising effort
  • Funds raised are used to purchase NEW clothing for local children and youth who are identified through Amador and western Calaveras County schools
  • Fundraising effort lasts two days, the first week in December
  • Children are taken shopping at the Jackson K-Mart, assisted by local adult volunteers and high school peer counselors.
Christmas to Remember IS NOT:
  • A collection spot for used clothing
  • A toy drive
Dates & Donation locations for 2015 are December 2nd & 3rd:

Jackson Creek Plaza, Jackson - near Cost Less Food
Sutter Creek City Hall, Sutter Creek
Plaza Foods, Ione
Pine Grove Market, Pine Grove
Payless Market, Buckhorn
Pokerville Market, Plymouth
and locations throughout Calaveras county.
Donations of cash or by check or credit card are gratefully accepted. Your dollar, given locally helps locally.
ALL donations directly help a needy child with NEW winter clothing.
