The October JBCA meeting is this next Monday, October 1st at 5:30pm in the JBCA office on Jackson Main Street. This is a vital time for the Jackson Business & Community Association to have all hands on deck. Whether you are a current member, a past member who would like to come back or someone who hasn't committed yet... now is the time to attend! If you have any questions please feel free to email or give me a call. The 3rd Annual Jackson Mid-Town 5k Run/Walk & 10K Run is coming up on Saturday, Oct.7th. Jackson businesses are invited to provide items and/or coupons for the event goodie bags (about 200) and encouraged to run or be a sponsor. This event is attracting runners from around the region, and we hope they will stick around Jackson for lunch and some fun after the race. Amador County Women's Network - Wed Sept 26

Hi ladies!

Business to Business: Team Fitness advertising opportunity


Team Fitness in Pine Grove - right next to the Post Office - is looking to help promote your business while enhancing ours!

Many local businesses have already contributed small-value items or certificates to use in our continuing "Fit Fridays’" promotion, "10 for 10" prizes to be earned as people in our Team Weight-Loss Program lose weight, as well as other seasonal campaigns.

In return for your donation, we will advertise your business name and logo in our window, as well as on our website, for all to see. (Website page devoted to our supporters is coming in the next week.)

Your donations are out on our table as you walk into our Fitness Studio for all to see. Weight Watchers Jackson Open House - Sat Sept 15


Hi, my name is Helen Stanley and I am a Weight Watchers leader in Jackson.  I need to get the word out that we are going to start having meetings in Jackson on Saturday mornings - weigh ins begin at 8 am and the meeting starts at 830 am.  This Saturday we are having an open house with guest speakers from Bodies-n-Balance and Walk Fit.  We are also doing a food drive for the Interfaith Food Bank that day.

Amador Council of Tourism - Thurs Sept 13

ACT's quarterly evening meeting is next Thursday, September 13th, 5:30 pm, Big Horse Ranch in Ione. The address is 3200 Camanche Road. There is a big sign over the driveway that says "Big Horse Ranch."From Highway 88, turn onto Jackson Valley Road and then onto Camanche Road. Big Horse Ranch will be about 7 miles from 88. Ray, Rick, and Sylvia say there will be chuck wagon hors d'oeuvres and a campfire dutch oven dinner, if you wish to stay. They also recommend close-toed shoes and if you have a favorite lawn chair, bring it.

We will have a guest speaker, Janet Fullwood from dogtrekker.com. She will give a brief presentation about one of the fastest growing trends in travel, dog travel. She will give us an update on latest practices for dog-friendly travel and how to go dog-friendly. Please note: we understand that dog-friendly does not fit everyone's business plan. These meetings are meant to give you the opportunity to learn what's going on out there in a few minutes, visit one of our member businesses, and connect with each other.

Member or not, you are welcome. Come find out about Big Horse Ranch, ACT, and dog-friendly travel. It is always fun.

Two large groups are arriving at Jackson Rancheria Casino & Resort in late September and November. Emily Tirapelle sent the following request:

I have two (2) very large groups that I am doing goodie bags for. Both groups have a car show element...Most of the people coming to this group will want to venture out and explore Amador County while here for the weekend. These groups attendees are from the Bay Area, Sacramento and Stockton areas. I will supply the goodie bag, a dash plague, playing cards and casino offer.

Group 1 - Capital City Cruisers - Event Date: 9/29/12. Need items for 300 bags. Would need goodie bag stuff by 9/15/12 so I can stuff bags.

Group 2- King of the West Sprints - Event Date: 11/10/12, Need items for 200 bags. This is part of a 3 day event. The car show is a secondary element from a Kick Off party, End of Year Banquet and General Business Meeting. The Car show will be on the Saturday before the End of Year Banquet.  I would need goodie bag stuff by 11/1/12 to stuff bags.

American Tower Company seeks distributors

Dear Chamber of Commerce Members,

I am trying to locate companies within your community that install commercial towers as well as residential towers. They could also be individuals that may be interested in becoming a Tower Dealer of our product line. The towers could be used as TV Towers, Communication Towers, Security Camera Towers, etc.

We as a company would like to have a reliable distributor of our product line in your state. So we thought that the Chamber of Commerce would be the best place to start our search.
